Our hearts go out to the victims of Oklahoma’s devastating tornadoes that swept through central Oklahoma this week.  As a school-age childcare provider, CASP is especially saddened by the deaths of the children at Plaza Towers Elementary in Moore.  Like many Oklahomans, our staff and children followed their emergency plans and rode out Monday’s storms in their “safe places”.  Our thoughts and condolences go out to those families who lost loved ones, homes, places of work, and their neighborhood schools.

There are many wonderful ways to help the survivors of Oklahoma’s tornadoes.  Here are just a few:

Madison CASP got a special treat last week from some volunteers from AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) and Wishing Works

Volunteers from these organizations prepared and brought some fun, chemistry oriented science projects for the kiddos to experiment with.

Thanks to these volunteers for making the day special for our Madison kids!

THANK YOU!

Thanks to the generous donations of individual community members and organizations such as the OU Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society, CASP has been able to provide 500 meals to hungry children attending our programs since March.

Each meal that we put together includes a variety of foods that are easy for children to open and prepare. We do our best to put together meals that are healthy and non-perishable. (See below for an example meal that includes ravioli, raisins, pudding, fruit snacks and juice.)

CASP plans to continue providing meals through the end of the semester and hopes to provide meals during the summer as well.  If you are interested in assisting with this effort, you may drop off donations at our administrative office at 1023 N. Flood Avenue, or contact us via email at info@caspinc.org for more information.
