An active member of the Norman Community, Johnnie-Margaret McConnell sees the important roles social service agencies, such as CASP, play in meeting the needs of children and families.
“CASP plays an integral part in our community. Support of this program is a necessity to provide a safe haven for our future leaders, scientists and artists.”
Johnnie-Margaret earned a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Performance as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Oklahoma. Currently, she is working on her Masters in Journalism while working fulltime as the Assistant Director of Residence Life at the University of Oklahoma. Johnnie-Margaret has served on numerous boards and advisory committees including the OU Theatre Guild and the Oklahoma Academic Advisors Association.

Charlie Mason
Charlie Mason is well known and well loved in our community for her dedication to our children and families. As the Director of Alternative Education for Norman Public Schools, Charlie sees the importance of organizations such as CASP that provide support and services to families trying to balance work and family life.
“CASP provides a valuable service to Norman. I feel blessed to live in a community that supports the agencies that serve our youth.”
Charlie earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston and her Master of Education from the University of Oklahoma. After dedicating 15 years as a classroom teacher, Charlie made the move to school administration where she has spent the last 18 years molding, training, and mentoring both teachers and youth. Charlie has served on too many boards, committees and organizations to list, but has kept her love for children at the heart of her volunteer efforts. Charlie has served on the CASP Board of Directors for many years and is the current Vice-Chair.

Debi Harris
As the parent of a school-age child, Debi Harris understands the concern shared by working parents about their children’s safety before and after school.
“Nothing elicits anxiety faster than worrying about who will be taking care of your precious child. CASP and its wonderful teachers completely erase this fear and put parents at ease so they can concentrate on their jobs.”
Debi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from The University of Oklahoma and is a detective with the Norman Police Department. Debi joined the CASP Board of Directors in 2007.
Personal Mantra: Live each day to the fullest and tell those you love, you do so on a daily basis.
Terry Hopper
Terry Hopper joined the Community After School Program Board of Directors in 2007. As an elementary principal for Norman Public Schools, Terry knows first-hand the stress and anxiety of parents trying to ensure the safety and well-being of their school-age children.

Terry earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Central State University and his Master of Education from the University of Oklahoma. After retiring from Norman Public Schools in 2002 and moving briefly to Texas, Terry returned to Norman in 2003 and resumed his principal duties at McKinley Elementary where his biggest fans reside.
